NBIB Tulip festival 2020

Our annual tulip festival will be a bit different this year! Unfortunately due the current emergency pandemic situation, we are unable to hold our weekly gardening sessions and definitely no larger gatherings such as our tulip tea or tulip bulb sale. However, over 2,000 tulip bulbs were planted as usual by our volunteers in November and the early ones are already in flower. Tulips and other spring bulbs are such a beautiful sign of spring, symbol of Easter and bringer of general cheerfulness that we wanted as many people to be able to enjoy them as possible so we are launching a 'virtual festival' on Thursday 9th April.  Our splendid leaflet has once again been designed by Rosie Oberlander so we hope that you will read it here or download it on your phone to find out more about the tulips and the best walks to see them round the town.

Please also walk past our tulip rainbow in the grounds of the Abbey Church on the High Street. We had planted pots of tulips to sell at our tulip tea and we didn't want them to go to waste so they are all now displayed beside some rainbow pictures in the pallet garden. We hope that they bring you a little cheer.

We will be posting regular pictures on facebook, twitter and instagram, so please 'follow' us and 'like' us and tell all your friends about us. For those of you who cant get outside at the moment, we hope that you enjoy the pictures of these amazing flowers. I know its not the same as going on the walks yourselves but we will do some video tours so that you can enjoy the colours and look forward to the time when the pandemic is over and you can once again enjoy all the beauty of nature in North Berwick.
